The grain has a white streak similar to the one found on Garudan (kite) and it has a medium GI. Also called "KaadaiKazhuththaan" in some parts of Tamil Nadu. Garudan Champa has a unique nutty favour and it is rich in nutrients and fibre. It reverses blood anaemia and known for its anti-cancer, anti-skin decease properties. It improves the immune system and helps in curing digestive disorders.
